What does Recycle mean?
The Waste Hierarchy shows that the third best way to deal with your waste is to Recycle. Recycling waste means using waste to make new products. These products can be the same as the original or completely different.

Why is recycling waste a good thing to do?
Recycling your waste: Separating your waste at school for recycling will make sure that recyclates (materials that can be recycled) will be made into new products rather than being taken to landfill. The recycling journeys below show what happens to some of your waste when you make sure it gets recycled.

How can our school recycle waste?
To start recycling in your school, ask your teacher to visit the Staff Section where they can find out who provides a school recycling collection service in your area.

Once recycling facilities have been set up within your school, you can make posters encouraging recycling at school using the Waste Aware Posters.
